This 1374 acre wooded county park has hiking trails and campsites - some with Adirondack shelters. Within the reservation is Saddle Ridge Horseback Riding Center (201-848-0844) operated as a concession. A Camping Permit is required from the Bergen County Division of Parks, and may be applied for Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Darlington County Park, 600 Darlington Avenue, Mahwah, NJ 07430. A 1,650 foot main slope with machine-made snow is the center of this ski area. The ski center includes eight trails, four lifts, one with a mid-station, and a 600 foot school slope serviced by a T-bar lift and two handle tows. The Visitor’s Center has a lounge, snack bar, a shop for renting equipment, and the ski school office.

Getting There:

From Route 17 Take the Route 202 South exit and proceed on Route 202 for 1.6 miles. Make your first left after Ramapo College onto Darlington Avenue. Continue straight and bear right at the fork onto Campgaw Road. The entrance is about 1.2 miles on the right. Enter the park and make the first right through the yellow gates. Continue to parking lot.

From the George Washington Bridge: Take Route 4 West to Route 208 North. From Route 208 take the Ewing Ave exit. Follow green county signs to the 'Police and Fire Academy' and turn left onto Franklin Ave. Turn right onto Pulis Ave. Continue straight and turn left onto Campgaw Road. The entrance is about 1.2 miles on the left. Enter the park and make the first right through the yellow gates. Continue to the parking lot.

From the Tappan Zee Bridge: Take 287 West approximately 13 miles. Take Exit #15 (Route 17 South) to the Route 202 South exit and proceed straight for 1.6 miles. Make your first left after Ramapo College onto Darlington Avenue. Continue straight and bear right onto Campgaw Road. The entrance is about 1.2 miles on the right. Enter the park and make the first right through the yellow gates. Continue to parking lot.

From South and Central New Jersey: Take Route 287 North to Route 202 North (Oakland Exit). Turn right onto Darlington Ave. Continue straight and bear right at the fork onto Campgaw Road. The entrance is about 1.2 miles on the right. Enter the park and make the first right through the yellow gates. Continue to parking lot.

From Route 208: From Route 208 take the Ewing Ave exit. Follow green county signs to the 'Police and Fire Academy' and turn left onto Franklin Ave. Turn right onto Pulis Ave. Continue straight and turn left onto Campgaw Road.
