Chair, Christopher Tausch called the meeting to order

2. BUSINESS
A. ELECTIONS: Chris asked for Nominating Committee’s nominee for Club Board of Directors. Phyllis Key nominated Jeff Sovelove. He then asked for a nomination for the Alternate to the ADK Board of Directors. Phyllis Key reported that Marilyn Adair had accepted. There being no nominations from the floor for either office, Chris then called upon the Secretary to cast one vote to indicate unanimous approval of the slate by the members present.
B.
FINANCIAL REPORT. Marcia Greenwald is out of town. Chris
received her report which shows a balance as of March 31 of $4,251.82. (Attached.)
C. Presentation of 2007 AWARDS: a. Hike Leader caps (4 or more hikes led): Rich Holden, Jeff Sovelove, and Susan Sterngold.
b. Map sets (4 or more hikes after receiving a cap in previous years): Bob Danetz, Paul Margiotta, Dave & Naomi Sutter, and Hank Zulauf.
c. Eric Nelson’s new book (in appreciation for continued volunteer services to the Chapter) : Marilyn Adair, Marcia Greenwald, Betty Heald, Phyllis Key (led 17 hikes in spite of being “out of commission” for 4 months!), Rob Lehmann, Leslie McGlynn, Karen Rose, Mary Saraco, Linda Schutz, Phyllis Stewart, and Chis Tausch.
d. White Birch Awards for meritorious service to the North Jersey Chapter were presented to Rob Lehmann (Website), Karen Rose (Activities Coordinator), and Lilo Kassels (newsletter).
D. Betty brought to the attention of all those present that a park was being dedicated in honor of Jerry Wyckoff on Earth Day, April 22. Jerry passed away in the fall of 2006. His hometown of Ringwood has acquired 7.5 acres of open space and will name it the Jerry Wyckoff Preserve.
There being no other business to come before members. The Chair entertained a motion to adjourn the meeting for the ensuing program.

Chris introduced Brenda Holzinger[1] of the NY-NJ TRAIL CONFERENCE who in turn introduced Matt Townsend and Katy Dieters who gave a power- point
presentation on the Bear Mountain Trails Renovation
Project.
[1] Brenda Holzinger, Conservation Chair for the Chapter and on the staff of the NY-NJ TRAIL CONFERENCE was recently installed as a member of the Environmental Education Fund of the NJ Environmental Lobby.
